Two friendlies in two days

Adriano feels the Newtown match is a good one to have at this stage of pre-season

Presteigne St Andrews will play two pre-season games in two days, starting on Wednesday, 1 August when the first team will head to Latham Park to take on Newtown Academy.

This will be a chance for manager Adriano Girolami’s new-look squad to renew acquaintances with one of the club’s former managers, Tim Broome, who is now involved with Newtown.

The kick off at Newtown on Wednesday evening will be at 7.30pm and it is hoped to have the result up online at some stage on Wednesday evening.

Then, on Thursday, 2 August, the Reserves start the build up to their new season as they are scheduled to take on Malvern Rangers at Llanandras Park, when the kick off will be at 7.45pm.

This is a fixture Malvern have been keen to fix up for some years so it is good that we have finally managed to get things sorted.

Both games promise to be good tests of just how well pre-season is going although both managers will be far more interested in the levels of performance rather than the results.
