Preview of the weekend action

The first team are at home this Saturday

Now the rainy season has passed – for the time being, anyway – it is back to the football action with a home game for the first team this weekend while the Reserves have a trip to the deep south.

The first team will have spent part of the week licking their wounds after being on the wrong end of a 7-1 scoreline last Saturday when Machynlleth came to visit.

Hopefully they will have got that one out of their collective system by now as the form guide would suggest they are going to need to have – Spar Mid Wales League, second division leaders Llanfair United will be at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 1 December.

Llanfair arrive with a perfect record of nine wins from nine league matches so will clearly be a very decent test for Danny Williams’ side.  But, there would surely be no better way to bounce back from last week than by taking something from the league leaders.

Meanwhile, the Reserves head to Brecon Town for the second time this season – they were beaten there in the first round of the Mid Wales League (South) cup around six weeks ago.

But, only a week later, they beat Brecon 3-0 in a league game at Llanandras Park, so there are grounds for optimism for Bobby Morgan and Mark Weiland’s side as the prepare for this one.

Admission for the first-team game against Llanfair United will be £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16 – the game is due to kick off at 2.30pm.

Now the rainy season has officially passed, let’s just hope it’s not to be replaced by the frosty season.
