Preview of Saturday’s action

Presteigne face a quick-fire return game with Knighton

From the outset, it’s probably worth mentioning that I have no doubt officials at both Knighton Town and Llanandras Park will take a look at the state of their respective pitches ahead of the scheduled matches on Saturday, 29 December.

The first team will head to Bryn-y-Castell to take on Knighton Town in the return game after Knighton left Llanandras Park with a 2-0 victory on Boxing Day.

Knighton have very much had the upper hand over Presteigne in recent times – they beat us five times in all competitions last season and have obviously continued in the same vein so far this year.

I would stress that as far as we are aware, the game is very much ON at the moment – we haven’t heard anything to the contrary, but no doubt Knighton Town will be watching the rainfall levels overnight – we are due to get a fair bit of rain.

Meanwhile, the Reserves are due to take on Newbridge Reserves at Llanandras Park  but, again, this will be determined by a look at the pitch on Saturday morning.

Bobby Morgan and Mark Weiland will doubtless be keen to get the game on if they can – five of their last nine scheduled matches have been postponed and it is proving to get any momentum into their season.

The kick off for the Reserves’ game against Newbridge Reserves will be at 2.30pm and admission will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.

If there is a problem with either of the scheduled matches, then updates will be posted here just as soon as hear anything.
