Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s will this evening travel to Old School Lane in Hereford for their HFA Giantkillers Cup first-round tie against Pegasus Juniors.

Manager Roy Simcock and his squad will be hoping this proves ‘third time lucky’ as the game has been twice postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

It was originally due to be played back in October, and then late in November and no doubt the HFA will be hoping they do manage to get the game on tonight.

As for the Under 18s themselves, they will be especially keen to get the game on as they have had a host of postponements in recent times so will be just keen to play again.

Tonight’s match is due to kick off at 7.30pm and it is hoped to have the result and outline details up online at some stage later this evening.

I hardly dare mention it but, given the heavy storms overnight, I would be surprised were Pegasus officials not to take a look at their pitch at some stage today.

Should there be any news, it will be posted here just as soon as I get it – but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that and it is ‘game on’ for Roy and his squad this evening.
