The Reserves recorded their seventh league win of  the season

Presteigne Reserves spread a little Christmas cheer around Llanandras Park when they beat visiting Radnor Valley 2-0 in their Mid Wales League (South) game on Saturday, 28 December.

I have no details yet as to goalscorers or the time of the goals, but will add these in when they become available.

But the good news for manager Mark Weiland is the side is up to fifth in the Mid Wales League (South) table as a result of this win.

They are only five points off the leaders, Rhayader Town Reserves, so will consider themselves still very much in the title race as we reach the turn of the year.

As mentioned earlier in the week, January is promising to be a serious test of those title ambitions with away games at Penybont and Newcastle and a home match against an as yet unbeaten Sennybridge side to come in the next month.

But this win over the local rivals will certainly have put the Reserves in good spirits for the challenges to come.
