No shortage of football at Llanandras Park in March

The respective league secretaries have issued the league fixtures for March and both the first team and the Reserves have tough-looking months.

The first team will open up on Saturday, 1 March with an away Spar Mid Wales League Cup trip to Machynlleth – a game that will kick off at 2.15pm and which will go to extra time and penalties if needed.

They will then have a blank weekend on 8 March, before they are on the road again on 15 March when they will head to Kerry.

The month will be rounded off with home games against Abermule and then Hay St Marys.

If the weather behaves itself, then March will go a long way towards defining whether or not the Reserves are going to be in the shake-up for the Mid Wales League (South) title.

Leading Danish lager companies don’t do ‘tough months of fixtures in the South’, but if they did…. well, this would have Carlsberg stamped all over it.

Mark Weiland’s side will open up with three home games on successive Saturdays, starting with Sennybridge on 1 March.

Penybont and then Rhayader Town Reserves will then visit Llanandras Park, beford Mark Weiland’s team will then head to both Penybont and Sennybridge – so, a very tough run of games.

This is especially so when you consider they will have to fit in a J Emrys Morgan Cup semi-final tie against Caersws Reserves somewhere along the line, although we are told this will be a midweek game, so it shouldn’t impact on the league fixtures.

As for the Under 18s, their fixtures have also been updated, with the stand-out game there being the rearranged HFA Giantkillers Cup match against Hereford United which is now due to be played on Thursday, 13 March at Llanandras Park.
