Time to reprise that old D:Ream song…

The first team head to Talgarth Town for a 1.30pm kick off

If you are under the age of, say, 30, then you probably won’t have a clue what I am talking about, but the Northern Irish band’s biggest (and probably only) hit was entitled ‘Things Can Only Get Better’.

I have returned from a week’s holiday to discover the first team was thumped 9-1 at Rhosgoch Rangers while they were then beaten 5-2 at home by Abermule.

Give those results came off the back of a 8-0 home defeat by Hay St Marys, it is not over-egging the cake to say we are in a desperate run of form.

Meanwhile, the Reserves’ hopes of being in the shake up for the Mid Wales League (South) title race sustained a potentially fatal blow when Llanidloes Town Reserves headed home from Llanandras Park with all three points after a 5-1 win.

A game against the league leaders was always likely to be a tough ask, but manager Mark Weiland will no doubt have been disappointed by the margin of this defeat.

The first team will head to Talgarth Town on Saturday, 12 April for a game that is due to kick off at the earlier time of 1.30pm – I don’t know why, but we have been informed this will be the case.

Meanwhile, the Reserves will have home advantage for their game in which they will take on St Harmon in another Mid Wales League (South) game.

The kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm and the admission prices will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
