Presteigne Juniors Under 17s were well beaten in their HFA league match as they went down 4-1 at home to Ross Juniors at Llanandras Park.

Joint-manager Haydn Williams admitted this had been a very disappointing performance from the lads, who had started promisingly the previous week when they had battled out a draw with Pegasus Colts.

“This was a bad day at the office as we lost 4-1 to an extremely physical Ross Juniors side,” said Haydn.

“Well done to our goalscorer Josh Griffiths, but overall the first half was very disappointing as we let Ross boss us around.

“The second half was a lot better as we showed a lot of spirit, but Ross did a job on us and stopped us playing.

“There were numerous fouls but we rose above that and tried to keep playing our football.

“We missed a lot of chances in the second half but it just wasn’t going to be our day, so we’ll have to pick ourselves up for next week when we will travel to Pegasus Juniors.”
