The draw has been made for the first round of the Spar Mid Wales League Cup and Presteigne St Andrews have been handed a home tie against Rhosgoch Rangers.

This will be another stiff test as Rhos, of course, won promotion to Spar League Division One at the end of last season and they are settling in well to life at the new level.

The Crows are third in the table with a record of four wins from their opening five league matches this season.

Given it’s something of a derby game, it’s to be hoped there will be a good turnout for this one – who knows, maybe we will get the same level of entertainment as there was on Groundhoppers Day in August 2012 when the game ended in a 5-5 draw?

The tie at Llanandras Park has been scheduled for Saturday, 1 November.
