After the Welsh Cup second qualifying round ties at the weekend, the Spar Mid Wales League secretary Phil Woosnam has now been able to issue fixtures for the next Conference date which is the weekend of 3 and 4 Oct0ber.
Given that Presteigne St Andrews FC’s interest in this season’s Welsh Cup came to and end at Llanrhaeadr, we will now host Talgarth Town in a Spar Mid Wales League, second-division match that weekend.
The game is to be played on Friday, 3 October at Llanandras Park when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
Talgarth Town have found the going tough so far this season and are currently only two points better off than ourselves, although they have played two more matches.
It will be interesting to see how the Friday-night fixture works out in terms of the attendance at Llanandras Park.
The evidence was that the Reserves’ recent match against Hay St Marys Reserves saw an increase in the gate and so maybe this is the way ahead?
It would be wrong, of course, to read anything into the crowd for one match, not least because Hay traditionally bring a few with them to matches at Llanandras Park, but nonetheless it will be another chance to see if Friday-night games might be the way ahead.
