First team win on the road

Presteigne St Andrews FC continued their recent improved form when they came away from Talgarth Town with all three points from their Spar Mid Wales League, second division match on Saturday, 22 November.

Jamie Allen’s side ran out 4-2 winners in this one – a result that lifted them above Talgarth Town in the league table.

Presteigne are now up to eleventh place, a point behind Newbridge over whom they have two games in hand.

Ashley Griffiths netted twice in this one, while there were also goals for Duane Anning and Callum Matthews, but the only down side was a red card for Tom Watkins late on for two cautionable offences.

Well done to the first team, after a dodgy start to the season it does appear as though they have now turned something of a corner.

Their away form is now looking pretty solid as this was their third victory on their travels.

Here’s hoping they can build on this and, in particular, reproduce some of that form at Llanandras Park where – bizarrely – we are still to win a home league game!
