Disappointing weekend all round for our teams

The extended weekend for Presteigne St Andrews FC wasn’t to prove our finest as there were cup exits for both the first team and the Reserves, while the Under 17s put in a battling performance in going down in their HFL Junior League match on Sunday afternoon.

Friday night saw the first team host Penybont in the ER Jenkins Cup but it wasn’t to be for Jamie Allen’s side as they were beaten 5-4.

I will add in the details of goalscorers and how the game went as soon as they come to hand.

As for the Reserves, well, there is to be no run in the J Emrys Morgan Cup this season as they bowed out at the third round stage.

They did take their hosts, Llandysul, all the way to penalties after the sides had drawn 3-3 after extra time, but they were beaten 5-4 in the shoot out.

It was left to the Under 17s to fly the flag for the club on Sunday, but it wasn’t to be as, despite a reportedly spirited performance, the Under 17s went down 4-2 at home against Pegasus Juniors Colts.

My thanks to Mark Weiland for sending me a report of the Reserves’ game which will appear online soon – I am sure Haydn Williams will do likewise for the Under 17s.

Anyone who would like to furnish me with some reasonably accurate information regarding the first-team game against ‘The Bont’ – well, please free to email me by clicking here and I will then post the details on that game, too.
