After two weeks without a game at Llanandras Park, supporters of Presteigne St Andrews FC will be able to see the first team in action on Saturday, 24 January.

Jamie Allen’s side will take on Churchstoke in a Spar Mid Wales League, second division match when the kick off will be at 2.30pm.

Churchstoke are in their first season at this level after winning a place in the league during last summer.

They started the campaign really well and were up there and challenging during the early weeks of the campaign.

While they have lost some of that momentum, they are still showing up very well and are currently in fifth place in the table.

But they are without a win since 8 November, although they have had a few postponements along the way, including last Saturday’s scheduled home match against Newbridge.

The previous week they were beaten 2-1 at Borth United, so they will be keen to put their season back on track at the first available opportunity.

We have reached the fourth weekend of January and still Presteigne are to win a home league match this season, so this would be as good a time as any to end that unenviable record.

Here’s hoping Jamie Allen and his side can get a few breaks in this one and put that long-awaited first home win on the board.

The kick off will be at 2.30pm and admission charges will be the usual £2.50 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.

There is no game for the Reserves this weekend – it’s hoped to have a report on the first-team game up online at some stage on Saturday evening.
