The end of the road in terms of the League Cup

Presteigne St Andrews FC bowed out of the Spar Mid Wales League cup at the second-round stage on Friday, 20 February.

Kerry proved too strong for Jamie Allen’s side at Llanandras Park as they headed home to Montgomeryshire with a 6-1 victory.

The visitors opened out a 2-0 lead in the first half before Callum Matthews put Presteigne back in the game with a terrific strike.

So, at half-time Presteigne were still very much in the game but sadly this was as good as it was going to get.

Kerry netted four more times after the break to run out comfortable and deserved winners as the home side gave it their best shot but could have few complaints.

So, the League Cup is over for another year and the first team will return to action on Saturday, 28 February when they will head to Builth Wells for a league match.
