The Reserves’ game goes ahead as planned

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s scheduled Spar Mid Wales League, second-division trip to Borth United on Saturday, 28 March has been called off.

Borth advised us earlier today that their ground is waterlogged and so they had no choice other than to postpone the game.

The first team squad will be fervently hoping the rearranged game – whenever it happens – is scheduled for a Saturday as there is no way we are going to be able to get there for a 6.30pm kick off on a midweek night.

But we will advise players, officials and supporters of the new date as and when we get it, but clearly the options for Saturday matches are going to be limited unless the league is happy to allow us to play it at the end of the season.

Our only blank Saturday next month is 11 April, but Borth United are due to host Abermule that day in an ER Jenkins Cup semi-final.

As for the Reserves, it is ‘game on’ at Llanandras Park after club officials made a couple of inspections of the pitch this morning.

The heavy rain cast some doubt over whether or not the match could go ahead, but Tom Ammonds, Mark Weiland, Tracy Hammond and others have taken a look and have decided the home match against Builth Wells Reserves will go ahead as scheduled.

The kick off for the Reserves’ match will be at 2.30pm and all support would be welcomed.
