It’s Kerry – away – this evening

Two games to go for Jamie’s squad and both are away from home

Presteigne St Andrews FC will play their penultimate match of the Spar Mid Wales League, second division season on Wednesday, 22 April when they will head to Kerry.

The timing isn’t great in that it will be a 6.45pm kick off and so manager Jamie Allen could well be struggling to get anything approaching a full squad to that corner of Montgomeryshire for a midweek game.

But, to be fair to the league secretary, Phil Woosnam, he is fast running out of available dates and – given the alternative at one stage was looking like Borth United away – this is probably the lesser of two long trips.

Also, that is what we have a reserve squad for, so it might well be that some of them are given the chance to step up and see what they can do.

Kerry are likely to prove a tough test – they can’t win promotion any longer, but they have been up there in the top four or five places for much of the season.

They need four points from their final two matches to ensure a third-place finish in the table, so will be fancying their chances this evening.

A reminder the game at Kerry is due to kick off at 6.45pm and it’s hoped to have the result and an outline report up online at some stage late on Wednesday evening or on Thursday morning.
