Presteigne Reserves will take on Radnor Valley in the Sparey Cup final

Radnor Valley FC are through to the final of the Alfred Sparey Cup final after a 3-1 win over Knighton Town Reserves in what was an entertaining semi-final tie at Llanandras Park on Tuesday, 28 April.

Vice-chairman Tom Ammonds was watching the game and sent in this report.

“Well done to Radnor Valley on qualifying for the final – although the date for that match will now have to be changed,” said tom.

“The reason for this is that the original date clashes with Radnor Valley’s annual dinner and so they quite reasonably asked us to switch it.

“As for the game itself, they beat Knighton 3-1 in what was a very good game in which Radnor were excellent on the break.

“Goals from Oliver Jones, Jack Price and a penalty from Elliott Morris sealed the Radnor victory.

“Knighton’s goal was scored by Mark Wozencroft – it was 2-1 with minutes to go before a penalty was awarded which, when it was put away, sealed Knighton’s fate.”
