The Reserves rounded off the season with a win in front of the home crowd

Congratulations to Mark Weiland and his Reserve-team squad after they produced what was arguably their best performance of the season to win the Alfred Sparey Cup final on Friday, 15 May.

The Ressies hosted a Radnor Valley side that would presumably have been looking forward to rounding off what has been a highly successful season by putting yet another trophy on the top table for the annual dinner.

But ‘Weedo’ and his squad clearly had other ideas as they ran out 5-2 winners to ensure they won the club’s own junior cup final.

This keeps things very neat and tidy and means that we won’t have to spend ages at a committee meeting in several months time wondering where the Cup is!

Shaun Prince reportedly scored a hat-trick for Presteigne Reserves, but I am told Adam Crowe had an outstanding game and was named Man of the Match.

As soon as I receive any further details or can beat any additional information out of ‘Weedo’, I will add it on to the site.

But, in the meantime, well done to the Reserves – a great way to end the season.
