Derby day at Llanandras Park

Presteigne St Andrews FC will face a derby clash in the Central Wales Cup when they will host Radnor Valley at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 31 October.

Radnor have established themselves quickly in the Spar Mid Wales League after winning promotion at the end of last season and they will be determined to put down a marker in this match.

The sides are due to meet again on Monday, 28 December at Radnor, so this will be an opportunity to secure the early bragging rights.

The general theme of the home match against Aberystwyth University on Tuesday night was that if Presteigne could sort out the defending of set pieces, then they would have won that game and probably one or two others this season, so this is clearly an area that the management team will be looking to address.

With a new squad – including a host of youngsters – it’s perhaps inevitable that there should be some degree of breakdown of communication at the back at key times but there is no doubt it is costing us.

Radnor have the perfect ‘mirror’ season so far in terms of their results – they have won six and lost six of their league matches so far this season – with three wins and three defeats both at home and on the road.

Their goalkeeper Will Fowden won the Player of the Month award for division two for August and September.

The kick off at Llanandras Park in this one will be at 2.30pm and the admission prices will be the usual for a first-team game – £2.50 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
