A great way to round off the away league programme

Presteigne Reserves came away from Llanidloes Town with a 3-1 win in their Mid Wales League (South) match on Tuesday, 19 April.

This was a very welcome win for Duane Anning and John Bright’s side it was the first time they had picked up a victory since Saturday, 28 November.

Josh Gardner, Justin Davies and Josh Carini were the goal scorers in this one and that ought to be enough to ensure the Reserves are in no danger of finishing bottom of the ‘South’ this season.

Well done to everyone concerned – it has been a really tough run for the Reserves in recent weeks, not least because they have often had to supply players for the first team squad.

While that is always the nature of Reserve-team football, it doesn’t help any manager or coach trying to put together a competitive squad in their own league.

But fair play to the Reserves for sticking with it and it was good to see their efforts were finally rewarded in this one.

A more detailed report will be posted online as soon as ‘Brighty’ comes down from Cloud Nine!

The Reserves will round off their league season next Tuesday night – 26 April – when they will take on Brecon Town at Llanandras Park in a 7.30pm kick off.
