Pre-season training starts this Wednesday evening

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s vice-chairman Tom Ammonds has confirmed pre-season training will start on Wednesday, 29 June.

It will take place on the John Beddoes School field and players are asked to report at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start.

Existing and new players are all welcome so, if you feel like a change of scenery for next season, then the message is: ‘Come and give us a go’.

It is hoped the first-team manager Mark Weiland will be in attendance, but this will be dependent on his making it back from his ‘scouting mission’ to France for the European Championships.

Actually, on one level, we are hoping ‘Weedo’ won’t be there for the opening pre-season training night as – if he isn’t – it would mean Wales have made it past Northern Ireland and into the quarter-finals of the tournament.

But, even if he isn’t there, Tom Ammonds and other members of the management team will be, so they will look forward to putting all players and potential players through their paces then.

So, 6.45pm on the John Beddoes School field on Wednesday, 29 June – football is officially back.
