Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Tom Ammonds has praised the effort and commitment of both the first team and the Reserves squads as they prepare for their weekend action.

The Reserves will be first into the fray when they will host Llanidloes Town Reserves in a Mid Wales League (South) fixture on Friday, 30 September.

This game is due to kick off at 7.30pm and it’s hoped there will be a good crowd there to back the Reserves who have made a good start to their league season.

“They have made an excellent start and you would take a point before you go to Hay,” said Tom.

“Having said that, after being two goals up in 10 minutes, you kind of look at it and think: ‘Well, it’s points lost’ but then, to come back from being 3-2 down to get the penalty and score it shows character.

“They are unbeaten with two draws and three wins and goals going in left, right and centre,” he added.

Dale Tomkins’ side has been in good form but they will know that Llanidloes Town usually provide a good challenge.

Both sides have nine points from the season so far, but the Daffs’ second string have played one game more than the Reserves.

So, if you are at a loose end on Friday evening, why not get down to Llanandras Park and get behind the Reserves as they look for the win that could take them top of the table?
