Tom was very pleased with his side’s showing in this one

My thanks to first team manager Tom Ammonds for forwarding me his thoughts on the side’s fine 5-2 Spar Mid Wales League, second division win at Four Crosses on Saturday, 15 October.

“This was another performance in which we created chances aplenty and on another day we could easily have hit double figures,” said Tom.

“We went there with the aim of getting the three points and from the start we dominated play and took the lead through Ioan [Hughes] who took a quick free kick which caught the keeper off guard.

“They equalised with their only real chance courtesy of a looping header that Simon Hamer had no chance with.

“As the first half progressed we missed numerous chance with Kieran Lusher and Tom Crichton going close on a number of occasions with the latter hitting the post.

“I had that feeling where were we going to be out of luck again but just before half-time, Kieran finally converted a chance and we went in and half-time 2-1 up.

“We always speak about the next goal being important and this proved to be the case as a slick move down the left flank released Ioan again who finished the move off tidily after the keeper had initially made another good save.

“Tom Crichton then got his goal – a goal his performances of recent weeks have deserved to put the game out of reach.

“But there was still time for Tim Office to grab his first goal of the season with a smart finish down to the keeper’s right .

“With the last kick of the game Four Crosses scored – I was disappointed by that and these errors could cost us moving on but three points were certainly deserved and, as I say, on another day we could have hit double figures.

“I would personally like to thank on behalf of the squad the travelling away support that came on Saturday as it is a fair distance – Ron and Ivy Dayas, Edward Traylor and John Bright.”
