Here we go, then – it’s a Friday, so that can only mean there is a Saturday following close behind it; there’s not much gets past me….

Saturday, 22 October will see both of our teams in action with both facing potentially difficult games.

The first team head to Montgomeryshire for an away game at Kerry and manager Tom Ammonds knows this is likely to prove a very good test of his squad.

“This is likely to be a very tough game tomorrow against the league leaders – especially as it’s in Kerry,” said Tom.

“They didn’t have the best of starts but have found their feet and are on a terrific run, so I know that this will be the toughest game of my tenure so far.

“Having said that, our team is full of confidence at the present time and we certainly will not be going there just to make up the numbers.

“As for squad news, well, Kai Dayas misses out due to other commitments and Ioan Hughes is also away which is a great shame as both have been impressing in recent weeks.

“But, on a more positive note, top scorer Matt Strangwood returns which will be a welcome bonus and Danny Evans also features having been unavailable last weekend,”

As for the Reserves, they are back into Mid Wales League (South) action with a home match against Brecon Northcote.

As with the Ressies, Northcote have started the season well and are currently in second place – three points and one place better off than Dale Tomkins’ side.

But the Reserves have a game in hand over tomorrow’s visitors so it should prove a very interesting contest.

The Reserves’ only defeat of the season to date came in their last outing a fortnight ago when they went down 3-1 at Talgarth Town.

Northcote have had a mixed season to date – they started slowly with two defeats in August but, since then, their only other reversal came at Talgarth where they went down 4-1.

But they have proved they can score goals – they put nine past Builth Wells Reserves and scored seven at Llandrindod Reserves.

In their last league outing, they were 2-1 winners at Rhayader Town Reserves on 7 October.

The kick off for the Reserves’ match at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm and admission will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
