For the second week running, Presteigne St Andrews FC will take on the Spar Mid Wales League, second division leaders.

Last weekend, Tom Ammonds’ side went to Kerry where, despite a good showing, they were eventually beaten 3-0.

But, despite their win, Kerry lost the leadership of the second division as Borth United put away Builth Wells to the tune of 4-0 in their game and so overhauled Kerry on goal difference.

It is Borth who make the trip to Llanandras Park on Saturday, 29 October and Tom knows full well this is likely to be another very stiff test.

“We played them in the Welsh Cup so we know what they’re about – they like to play football,” said Tom.

“When we played them down here we lost 3-2 to the last kick of the game and I just think that we know what they’re about, although they will also know what we’re about.

“Obviously, we’ve added to our squad but I guess they have to – I’m looking forward to that game,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Reserves are on the road this weekend when they will head to St Harmon for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.

After a defeat and a draw in their last two games – albeit against the top two sides in the division – Dale Tomkins’ side will be looking to get back on the winning trail.

St Harmon are currently bottom of the table with six points from their opening eight matches.

Those points have come from a home win over Newcastle and a victory at Builth Wells Reserves.

While Dale will be ensuring his players take nothing for granted, they will go into the game knowing a victory in this one could lift the Reserves as high s second in the table were other results to go their way.

The kick off in the first-team game at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm and admission prices will be £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
