Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Shaun Harris felt there were some positives to take from his side’s showing in the 4-2 pre-season friendly defeat at Radnor Valley but acknowledges his side still has plenty of work to do.

After the early setback of shipping two goals in the opening nine minutes, Presteigne rallied well but Shaun says they have to get out of the habit of conceding avoidable early goals.

“It was another good test; the boys are saying we haven’t had any easy friendlies yet but I think that’s the point,” he said.

“This was Spar One opposition and I’m not happy because we have lost but I feel we should have done better.

“Fitness levels need to improve so we are going to work on that this week and we can get in two training sessions,” he added.

The first team will return to pre-season action on Saturday, 29 July when they will host Holme Lacy at Llanandras Park.

There will be further details on that game later in the week.
