It was to prove a productive weekend for Presteigne’s sides as they continued the build towards their respective league seasons.

On Friday night the Reserves proved too strong for visiting Orleton Colts at Llanandras Park.

Joint-managers Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker would have been delighted by their side’s showing in the 3-1 victory.

Then, on Saturday, 5 August, the first team headed to Old School Lane for a match against Pegasus Juniors Reserves.

This game was played on Peggie’s second team pitch which was smaller than the squad was used to, but they adapted well to run out 2-1 winners.

The Presteigne goal scorers were Tim Office and Matt Strangwood.

My thanks to manager Shaun Harris for sending over his thoughts on that performance and also to committee member Haydn Williams for letting me know the result.

Shaun felt there were plenty of encouraging signs to come from this performance:

” There was some good passing football and we created lots of chances on what was a very small Pegasus second pitch,” he said.

A reminder the Reserves are due back in action on Tuesday, 8 August when they will entertain Kington Colts at Llanandras Park in a 7.30pm kick off.
