Two more on board ahead of the new season

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Shaun Harris has confirmed he has added two more players to his squad as he build towards the opening match of the new Spar Mid Wales League, second-division season.

Shaun feels both of his new acquisitions will make a major difference to his squad moving forward.

“We’ve signed Jack Biggs from Hay St Mary’s,” said Shaun.

“Jack plays in the centre of midfield – he is a big signing for us and someone that I feel can help with our promotion push.

“We have also signed Rory Hackett from Hay – he can play centre midfield or right back and will be another good addition for Presteigne,” he added.

These additions will be especially welcome as pre-season has not been without its casualties –  the first team squad recently lost two players through knee injuries when both Mike Ruckledge and Ryan Stokes were forced off in the first half of the warm up game at Llandrindod Wells.

Meanwhile, the Reserves continued their warm up for the opening of the Mid Wales League (South) campaign with a 4-2 home win over Kington Colts  on Tuesday, 8 August.

Alan Stocker, Tom Lewis, Chad Canning and Alun Crichton were the Reserves’ scorers.
