Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Shaun Harris insists there is no need for the players to be downhearted as a result of the 3-1 home defeat by Dolgellau.

Ahead of the return fixture at Dolgellau on Saturday, 26 August, Shaun has been reflecting on the performance from the first meeting at Llanandras Park.

“We’re disappointed as you always want to win your first home game but I was happy with the team performance.

“On another day we might have got something out of the game.

“We created lots of chances; we hit the post and the bar and had some kicked off the line so maybe it just wasn’t our day,” he added.

There are likely to be three changes to the squad for the long trip to Dolgellau.

“To do it early season probably isn’t a bad thing and we obviously know a bit more about them and them us.

“We gain Joel [Layton]back, as well as Tim Office and Kai [Dayas], but Jon Cawley, Jack Biggs, Rory are out.

“But it’s a strong squad as I think we have built up 20-22 first-team players.”
