Two home games in two days

Loads of matches still to play for the Reserves

Plenty of action at Llanandras Park this weekend

Both Presteigne St Andrews and Presteigne Reserves will have home advantage for their league matches this weekend.

First up will be the first team who will host Newbridge-on-Wye at Llanandras Park on Friday, 15 September when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.

This has the look of a game between two sides who have made mixed starts to the season – Presteigne would certainly fall into that category while Newbridge looked to be in the same boat until last weekend.

If their start to the season had been a bit hit and miss, it was certainly ‘hit’ in the home game against Dolgellau whom they beat 4-1.

As for the Reserves, they will be hoping this is the weekend they can finally put a home win on the board as their early-season form at Llanandras Park has been disappointing.

Three home defeats from their opening three matches is not what the management team would have been looking for and so they’ll be looking to redress the balance on Saturday, 16 September (Kick Off: 2.30pm).

The Swifts have struggled in recent seasons but have two wins from their opening three league matches in the Mid Wales League (South) this time around.

True, those wins have been against the division’s bottom two clubs in Llandrindod Wells and Felindre, but they will still have taken encouragement from this and so could prove a handful.

The admission prices for Friday night’s first-team game will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.

For the Reserves’ game on Saturday it will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and under 16s.
