First team see off Hay in Friday-night fixture

Presteigne St Andrews FC

Another good home win for the first team

Presteigne St Andrews FC continued their recent good home form with a 2-1 victory over Hay St Mary’s at Llanandras Park on Friday, 6 October.

The win took Shaun Harris’ side up to second place in the Spar Mid Wales League, second-division table.

Euan Rhodes put Presteigne ahead in the first half – a lead they held until half-time.

Hay equalised in the second period but Presteigne went on to win the game when Jack Biggs scored what I am told was a ‘wonder strike’ to secure the three points for the home side.

That is five wins from eight games for Presteigne and three on the bounce at Llanandras Park.

A reminder that the Reserves will host Brecon Northcote Reserves at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 7 October when the kick off will be at 2.30pm.
