It’s another Friday night – and so another home game for Presteigne St Andrews FC.

At least, this is the way the current month is panning out and this time it is Brecon Northcote who will visit Llanandras Park on Friday, 20 October.

The first team has been in good form of late and manager Shaun Harris will be looking to his side to build on that this evening.

But Brecon Northcote will be no pushover – in this, their first season at this level, they have won three and lost three of their six matches so far.

One of those three wins came on the road – they were 2-1 victors at Dyffryn Banw, while they have shown good form on their own ground, including a 5-0 victory over Abermule.

But they were on the wrong end of one in their last league outing in which they were beaten 6-1 at home by Llansantffraid Village.

Brecon’s Reserve side was at Llanandras Park a couple of weeks ago and, while they lost 5-1 on the day, they were a far better side than that scoreline would suggest.

So, Shaun will be impressing on his players of the need to keep their focus throughout the full 9o-plus minutes.

While I haven’t had any confirmed team news, as goalkeeper Anthony ‘Rambo’ Vernalls was injured during the League Cup defeat by Knighton Town, presumably there will need to be a check on his fitness before the squad is finalised.

Jack Biggs has reportedly left Llanandras Park opting for a return to his former club Hay St Mary’s.

The kick off this evening will be at 7.30pm and the admission charges will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.

There is no game for the Reserves this weekend.
