Presteigne Reserves’ fixtures for December have been released and Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker’s side is not going to be overworked in the final month of the year.

They will open the month with a trip to Ffostrasol in the J Emrys Morgan Cup, third round on Saturday, 2 December.

This will be followed up with a home game in the Mid Wales League (South) in which they will host Felindre on 9 December.

Felindre have found it tough going so far this season but they have broken their duck as they recorded their first win on Saturday, 11 November when beating visiting Brecon Northcote Reserves 3-2.

Given the fact there are only 11 clubs in the league this season, the Mid Wales League (South)’s secretary Paul Worts has quite reasonably determined there will be no games over the Christmas period.

So, as there is already scheduled to be a free Saturday on 16 December and there are no games on either 23 or 30 December, the Reserves face a break from after the Felindre game through until the New Year.

No doubt Messrs ‘Weedo’ and Stocker will be keen for the squad to not go too heavy on the mince pies and ‘light refreshment’ over the festive break so they can hit the ground running again in January.
