There is no game for the first team this weekend, but Presteigne Reserves will head to Newcastle for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture on Saturday, 18 November.

There is little to choose between the sides in the league table as the Reserves are third while Newcastle are one place behind in fourth spot.

But Newcastle are only two points behind and they have two games in hand.

Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker’s side are in very good form heading into this game – they have won their last six games in all competitions.

Tom Crichton is the man in form in front of goal – he has netted no fewer than 14 times in that six-game run.

But Newcastle on their own ground is usually a tough fixture as they don’t lose too many there.

The Reserves have already had one look at this weekend’s opponents this season and it’s not a game on which they will look back with particular fondness.

Newcastle headed home from Llanandras Park with all three points after a 3-1 win when the sides met on Saturday, 6 September.

But the Reserves are in good form and so this has the makings of a good game.

It has the makings of a big four days for the Ressies as they will then head to Rhayader Town on Wednesday, 22 November.
