A frustrating afternoon in south Shropshire for the Reserves

Presteigne Reserves’ recent good run of form came to an end on Saturday, 18 November when they were beaten 2-1 in their Mid Wales League (South) game at Newcastle.

This brought to an end a run of six straight wins in all competitions and also means Newcastle completed the league double over the Ressies after their win at Llanandras Park in September.

Tom Lewis was on target for the Reserves in this one when he scored from the penalty spot.

Early reports suggest this was one of those days in which the Reserves played well but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal.

But Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker will be impressing upon their side the need to regroup quickly as they will face another tough game on Wednesday, 22 November.

They will be off to the Weirglodd to take on Rhayader Town in another Mid Wales League (South) game.

Rhayader are top of the table and so this will be another serious test as they have won all nine of their league games so far this season.

The kick off at the Weirglodd on Wednesday evening will be at 7.30pm.
