I suppose any preview of the action for Saturday, 9 December will have to have to be tagged with the words: ‘Weather Permitting’.

As I post this, the snow is falling outside and, while this in itself might not prove too much of an issue, the predicted falling temperatures overnight might also come into play.

But, as things stand, it is ‘Game On’ for both of our clubs with both facing away trips.

Shaun Harris’ first-team squad will head to Aberystwyth University for their Spar Mid Wales League, second-division game.

They will be hoping the fact Aberystwyth is on the coast means it misses out on the worst of the snow as this is the first league game for a month.

The Students are going well this season – they are third in the division although their home form has been a bit mixed.  They have won two, drawn two and lost two of their six games on their own patch so far this season.

As for the Reserves, they will try again to play their J Emrys Morgan Cup third-round tie at Ffostrasol.

The match was due to be played last weekend but fell victim then to a waterlogged pitch.

Managers Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker will be hoping for better luck this time around – and also no doubt seeking an early call from the home side if the conditions are not looking great.

But, as we say, at the moment things are looking good and both games go ahead as scheduled.  Check back here or on the club’s Facebook or twitter pages for further updates.
