Well done to George Lancett for his work in ensuring Presteigne St Andrews FC continues to support projects that recycle former club kits that are no longer needed.

George did all the spadework to track down Ian Milton from the Lord’s Taverners who ensure such kits don’t go to waste.

They are generally distributed to clubs in this country who are in desperate need of them, while the Lords Taverner’s also sent some kits overseas.

Ian is based in Malvern and so George arranged for committee member Trevor Owens to take the shirts into work with him in Worcester.

Ian was soon on the telephone and arranged to meet Trevor for the handover of the kit – Ian asked us to make clear the Taverners were very grateful for our generous donation.

So, somewhere soon, the familiar red and black striped shirts will be put to good use by another club.
