The pitch at Llanandras Park on Friday morning

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s secretary Tom Ammonds has confirmed there is to be a pitch inspection at Llanandras Park ahead of the scheduled home game for the Reserves on Saturday, 17 March.

The Reserves are due to host Llandrindod Wells Reserves but, if we are being brutally honest, the prospects are not looking good.

On Cheltenham Gold Cup day, it seems fitting to use racing parlance when I say the ‘going’ on parts of the Llanandras Park pitch are not so much ‘good to soft’ but more ‘boggy to swamp-like’.

So, Tom will head down to the ground at 10.30am on Saturday morning to take a look, but we are going to need a radical upturn in conditions over the remainder of the day if this one is to go ahead.

It’s rumoured that Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker have gone into the transfer market and have brought in Flipper the Dolphin and Rebecca Adlington ahead of tomorrow’s game….

Still, as they say, ‘hope springs eternal’… actually, ‘springs- are just about the only thing we don’t have coming up through the pitch about – it’s not so much a ‘water table’ more a ‘water ceiling’.

More details on here or the club’s twitter feed after the inspection on Saturday morning.
