My thanks to Reserve-team joint-manager Alan Stocker for sending through the details of the Friday-night goalfest that was the Mid Wales League (South) home game against Hay St Mary’s Reserves.
In a game of tight defences – not – the Reserves came through by the extraordinary margin of 11-5.
Alan tells me the goalscorers for the Reserves were: Alan Stocker (3); Duane Anning (2); Tom Crichton (2); Gareth Bull; Tom Lewis; Jordan McQueen; and Tim Office.
This game also doubled up as an Alfred Sparey Cup quarter-final tie so the Reseves are through to the final four of that competition.
They will now meet Knighton Town Reserves in their semi-final after Knighton eased past Felindre 4-1 in their quarter-final tie.
Llanidloes Town Reserves are also through the semi-finals courtesy of a 2-1 win over Llandrindod Wells Reserves and they will meet the winners of the Kington Town Colts-Newcastle tie for the right to appear in the final.
