Two defeats across the weekend

Hard work in the heat for both sides over the weekend

It was ultimately a disappointing weekend for the club, but there was no faulting the effort of those players who travelled to both Builth Wells and Abermule.

The Reserves went down 5-2 against Rhayader Town in the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Cup final at Builth Wells on Sunday, 6 May.

It was a valiant effort by the Reserves in what were very hot conditions but they were sadly unable to prevent Rhayader from completing a league and cup double.

Then, on Monday, 7 May, the first-team squad headed to Abermule for their penultimate Spar Mid Wales League, game of the season.

Lewis Gilpin was on target for the first team in this one but they slipped to a 4-1 defeat.

However, full credit to those who did travel to Abermule as we were struggling to field a squad for this one and there were a number of players who turned out on both Sunday and Monday.

Given the heat of the weekend, that was a really good effort by all concerned.
