Shaun feels it’s been a positive start for the first team

My thanks to first-team manager Shaun Harris for taking time out to drop me a few lines on his take on the Wednesday-night win over Brecon Northcote.

“We made three changes from Saturday due to injury and unavailability,” said Shaun.

“A home game under lights often brings out a decent performance from my side.

“We settled a lot quicker than Saturdays game at Machynlleth.

“For me, the first 10 minutes were fairly even but we soon took control of the game and played the better football.

“Brecon are not to be taken lightly and they will take points off a lot of teams this season.

“We had a few close calls at the back but overall we created the more clear cut chances and had a lot more of the ball playing some nice football.

“Duane Anning has his best 90 mins for the first team under me and I was pleased to see him score a hat-trick.

“Jamie Blythe also deserves a mention having set up all four goals for Duane so far this season.

“Overall I’m happy with last night but it would have been nice to add a few more considering the chances we had in the second half.

“We move on to Saturday expecting another hard game against Waterloo who themselves have had a good start having played out two draws against good opposition.”

Saturday’s home match against Waterloo Rovers will kick off at 2.30pm at Llanandras Park and we’re grateful to club President Edward Traylor for his generous sponsorship of this game.

Admission prices will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
