It’s an ill wind that blows no good as the old saying goes and, from the sad demise of Brecon Northcote, we have benefited in the shape of striker Curtis Williams who has agreed a move to Llanandras Park.

Williams showed up well in the league meeting against Northcote earlier in the season and Presteigne’s manager Shaun Harris is delighted to have him on board.

“It’s no secret we were in need of another striker and Curtis will bring much need strength and pace to out forward line,” said Shaun.

“He’s someone I’ve had my eye on since Northcote visited earlier this season.

“We must thank Anthony Thornley and Brecon Northcote for waiving the 7 days notice of approach, so to push through the signing.”

Presteigne’s secretary Tom Ammonds goes on to say: “As much as we don’t like to see teams fold, it seems that we may have benefitted from this and Curtis will go straight into the match-day squad for Saturday’s home game against Montgomery Town.

“I would also like to extend my thanks to the officlals at Northcote for making this transfer possible and we wish them all the best for the future.

“Welcome Curtis Williams, we hope you enjoy your time with us.”
