Radnorshire Cup tie conceded

Presteigne St Andrews FC

Presteigne St Andrews FCIt is with huge regret that Presteigne St Andrews FC has had to withdraw from the Radnorshire Cup due to a lack of available players.

The first team had been due to host Llanidloes Town on Tuesday, 16 October but, despite the best efforts of manager Shaun Harris, he was unable to raise a full complement for the game.

There are at least seven players on the sidelines due to niggling injuries – and some more long term than that – while work commitments have also played a part.

Shaun had managed to raise a squad of 12 at one stage this morning but then two players got back in touch to inform him they were no longer able to play.

From the outset, we’d like to make it clear that this was in no way down to a lack of effort by the management team but that combination of injuries, work commitments and players being unwilling to step up from the Reserves meant Shaun was fighting a losing battle.

Our apologies to the Radnorshire Cup committee and Llanidloes Town FC whom we wish every success for the remainder of the competition.
