Match postponed due to heavy overnight rain

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s scheduled MMP with Norman Lloyd League, second division game against Hay St Mary’s on Tuesday, 13 November has been postponed.

While we posted yesterday things were looking doubtful due to the fact the grounds staff had been unable to get on the pitch to do any work since Friday night’s match, our worst fears were confirmed early this morning.

The problems were further compounded by the heavy rain that fell in the area overnight.

Club chairman Andy Crowe and others have been down to take a look at the Llanandras Park playing surface and at least one report says it’s in ‘a dreadful state’.

So the club was left with no option but to call off the match – we apologise to Hay St Mary’s for any inconvenience caused but at least they had a first-hand look at the pitch at the end of Friday’s game as they were our Central Wales Cup opponents for that game.

The first team will return to action on Saturday, 24 November when they’ll head to Rhayader Town.
