A home League Cup tie for the Reserves

Presteigne Reserves will be in Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales League (South) Cup action on Saturday, 9 March.

They will host Hay St Mary’s Reserves in their quarter-final tie at Llanandras Park.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 2.30pm and, given there is no first team game today, it’s hoped there will be a good turn out to help drive on the Reserves towards the last four of the competition.

They will feel better for having played a game against Newcastle during the week – and having played pretty well in that game by all accounts.

Prior to that match, there had been a lengthy lay-off due to various postponements and blank Saturdays so it would have done the side good to get a game under its belt.

In terms of league form going into this one, both sides are in the bottom four of the Mid Wales League (South) but Presteigne Reserves are seven points better off than today’s visitors with both having played 18 league matches.

The winners of today’s tie will head to Llanidloes Town Reserves in the semi-finals after the Daffs’ second string eased past Builth Wells Reserves 4-0 in their quarter-final tie at Lant Field.

The kick off at Llanandras Park this afternoon will be at 2.30pm and admission prices will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngster under the age of 16.
