A mid-week home game for the Reserves

It’s cup action for the Reserves this weekend

After two previous attempts to play the match were wiped out by the weather, Presteigne Reserves will again attempt to host Hay St Mary’s Reserves on Saturday, 23 March.

This will be a quarter-final tie in the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales League (South) Cup.

Frankly, I am just glad we are not doing a programme for this game or we might have struggled to get the title of the game on the front cover(!)

But a place in the last four of the competition is up for grabs and Alan Stocker’s side will be keen to make their mark in this one.

The omens are encouraging in that the Reserves proved too strong for their Hay counterparts when the sides met in their league games this season.

The first meeting at Forest Road back in August resulted in a 3-2 win for Presteigne Reserves while they then ‘doubled up’ when the sides met at Llanandras Park in November.

That day Tom Lewis and Spencer Napolitano each scored twice as Presteigne Reserves ran out 6-3 winners.

The winners of the Pip Samuel (Electrical) tie will face a trip to Llanidloes Town Reserves in the semi-finals.

The kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm and extra time and penalties will come into play if they are needed.

Admission prices for the game will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
