First team look to bounce back – Reserves start at home

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Good results for both sides on Saturday
Both sides are in action this weekend

Presteigne St Andrews FC return to MMP with Norman Lloyd League, second-division action on Saturday, 17 August when they will head to Abermule.

After something of a chastening experience in the 8-1 home defeat by Waterloo Rovers in their opening fixture, manager Terry Williams will be looking for a positive response.

As reported earlier today, Terry has supplemented the squad with the signing of midfielder Mark Rusling who joins as player-coach.

Abermule have had a difficult start to their season with back-to-back home defeats.

They were beaten 5-1 by league newcomers Forden United in their opening game while they went down 2-1 at home to Dyffryn Banw in their last outing.

But, as Terry and his side will fancy their chances of adding to Abermule’s woes, the Montgomeryshire club will doubtless be looking at our opening result and will see it as a chance to get their season off and running.

There will be a minute’s silence ahead of the game in memory of the Mid Wales League’s chairman and President Bob Williams who passed away earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the Reserves are due to open their Mid Wales League (South) season with a home match against Brecon Corries where the kick off will be at 2.30pm.

Good luck to Bryn Roberts and his side in this one and let’s hope there’s a good crowd there to get behind the side as they look to hit the ground running.

Admission prices for the Reserves against Brecon Corries will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
