Presteigne Reserves came away from St Harmon with all three points from their Mid Wales League (South) fixture on Saturday, 2 November.

Bryn Roberts’ side had to work hard for the win but they eventually came through 3-2 against a hard-working St Harmon side.

As I understand it, Presteigne Reserves trailed 2-0 in the first half but Tom Lewis’ strike had cut the deficit by the break.

This clearly gave Bryn’s side renewed drive as Tom Crichton then squared the game early in the second half.

Ewan Rhodes came up with the winner to secure the Reserves what was only their second league win of the season.

This victory – coupled with Rhayader Town Reserves winning 7-1 at Felindre – helped lift the Reserves off the foot of the table and up two places.

They are now two points better off than both Felindre, who slipped to the bottom of the league and St Harmon.

Hopefully this will provide the Reserves with the incentive they need to kick on in their forthcoming games – starting on Wednesday, 6 November when they will host Newcastle.

The kick off at Llanandras Park in this one will be at 7.30pm and the admission prices will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
