First team action at Llanandras Park

So, after the break for the festive celebrations, it’s back to it for both of our sides on Saturday, 4 January.

Presteigne St Andrews will attempt to put their disappointing Christmas results behind them when they host Dolgellau in a MMP with Norman Lloyd second-division fixture at Llanandras Park.

This has the makings of another good test as, while Dolgellau are in the bottom half of the division, they have won played only 10 matches so far this season and have won half of those.

Our grateful thanks to Carpet Trader Wales for their generous sponsorship of this fixture.

If you factor in that they went to the then league leaders Penparcau and won 2-0 last Saturday then this gives you some idea of the size of the task facing Alan Stocker’s side.

That defeat for Penparcau cost them top spot in the division – Machynlleth have taken over on goal difference although they have played one more game.

As for the Reserves, they are on the road to the Racecourse for a Mid Wales League (South) match against Penybont United.

‘The Bont’ are currently sixth in the table but they have games in hand over most of the clubs above them in the division.

Bryn Roberts’ Reserves side will go in search of what would be a third win of the season.

If you are heading down to Llanandras Park for the first-team game, I am advised the kick off time is 2.00pm although heaven knows why this has to be the case given we have floodlights.

But, 2.00pm it is and the admission prices will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
