A pre-season win over St Harmon

Presteigne St Andrews FC continued their build up to the new Mid Wales League (South) season with a four-nil pre-season friendly win over St Harmon at Llanandras Park on Thursday, 29 July.

It was to prove a very productive night for Matt Strangwood as he continued his recent good goalscoring run.

‘Strangie’ netted a hat-trick in this one while there was also a goal for Owen Anning.

So, an encouraging showing from John Haycox’s side at Llanandras Park and this should give them something to build on for the upcoming games.

Next up for Presteigne will be an away trip to Talgarth Town on Wednesday, 4 August when the kick off will be at 6.45pm.

It’s hoped the next home game will be against Penybont on Saturday, 7 August, but this is still to be confirmed.

Further details on that one as and when they come to hand but, in the meantime, well done to the squad for what was clearly a solid performance against the Swifts although no doubt John will feel there is still more to come.
